Diamond stud earrings in every size
Diamond studs (single diamond earrings) are one of the most versatile pieces of jewelry in any woman’s wardrobe. Perfect for evenings out, the office or even a game of tennis. Diamond earrings can be worn with jeans or an evening gown and everything in between. Round-shaped diamonds are very popular, beautiful and give off a subtle elegance. If you’re not sure what she likes, diamond studs are a safe choice.
If you’re looking to impress, come in and see the popular “Emette” earrings that we carry in several styles. They cleverly cluster smaller diamonds to make a big statement for a wallet-friendly price.
What to look for in buying a diamond. The Four C’s explained.
Diamonds aren’t just for engagement rings! Whatever the use, diamonds are evaluated by a system called the four C’s – cut, carat, clarity, and color.
Cut: Diamonds are cut in a variety of shapes designed to enhance their brilliance and fit the taste of the wearer. The most versatile cut for most women is a classic round, which reflects light and gives the largest look for the size. Emerald cut is a rectangular shape, and baguette is a slim rectangle. Oval and marquise (shaped like a football with a point at both ends), are less common.
Carat: Diamonds are weighed to determine their size. A carat is 200 milligrams, ⅕ of a gram. Generally, the higher the carat weight for an individual stone, the more expensive it will be.
Clarity: Diamonds are rarely perfectly clear. Most stones have slight shadows, specks, or cloudiness, called inclusions. Clearer stones will sparkle more, but to the naked eye the difference will be slight. The clarity of the diamond greatly affects the price and depending on the setting, it may not be worth the extra money. Earrings, which are not looked at as closely as rings, are generally made of less clear stones that still give off plenty of sparkle.
Color: Most people think of diamonds as clear, white stones. However, the color can vary, like the clarity. Pure white stones are priced higher than ones with a slight yellow, pink, or brown cast. To the naked eye, a very slight difference in hue will not affect the overall look of the stone, but will make it more affordable. Strongly colored diamonds have become increasingly popular. LeVian® has branded their “Chocolate Diamonds” but there are many good quality cognac brown and black diamonds available. They are very wearable with a lot of wardrobe choices, and are generally a good value. If she’s a woman who tends to dress stylishly, she may have her eye on this trend in color diamonds.
Diamond Bracelets
The classic diamond tennis bracelet.
A tennis bracelet is the term for a bracelet made of a single row of diamonds that circles the wrist. This very wearable style has come back into vogue recently. Tennis bracelets can be dressed up or down and worn in multiples. The strong setting and sturdy clasp make it secure enough to play sports in. Tennis bracelets are often made of round diamonds. Small diamond clusters with the look of round stones are also very popular and more reasonably priced.
Tri-color gold bracelets for women of style
In years gone by, the idea of mixing two of three metal colors in a piece of jewelry was almost unheard-of. Today, with the groundbreaking popularity of Cartier’s Trinity collection, bracelets, rings and earrings mix metals with gorgeous results. Another advantage of a tri-colored piece of jewelry is that it will go with the rest of her jewelry wardrobe, whether she tends toward white gold, yellow gold or rose gold. Tri-color bangle bracelets are easy to wear, great for work and will go with everything she owns.
